1. Women should have their Pap test as early as 21 years old

A Pap smear, also called a pap test, is a procedure that looks for any abnormal cell changes in your cervix to detect cervical cancer. A small brush is used to scrape cells from the surface of your cervix and will be brought to the lab for further testing. This procedure will only take a few couples of minutes, and although it is a bit uncomfortable, it will not cause any long-term pain.

 

2. Protect yourself from HPV

HPV, or human papillomavirus, is a group of sexually transmitted viruses that can eventually lead to certain types of cancer. You might not know that you are already affected by this condition. If you are already a smoker, please quit. If not, please do not start. Smoking can increase your risk of at least 15 different types of cancer, including gynecologic cancers. 5. Have regular checkups
