Proper Shoe Fitting
- Getting the right size.
The health of your feet is very important if you wear shoes that fit well.
Here are some things to keep in mind to make sure your clothes fit.
It’s important that your big toe is at least a half-inch away from the front (tip) of the shoe.
Then, walk around with the shoes on your feet and ask yourself:
- “Do these shoes fit well?”
- “Do these shoes hurt my feet?”
- “Can I get these shoes off quickly?”
It’s best to wear shoes that support your foot’s arch, even though footwear trends come and go. Among other things, tennis shoes have a good arch support. Alternatively, you can buy inserts for other types of shoes to help support your arch. If any of your shoes don’t meet these rules, it may be time to buy new shoes.
2. You should check your shoes for signs of wear and tear.
Not only will you want to make sure your shoes fit, but you’ll also want to keep an eye on your old shoes.
3. Taking a look at your current shoes:
Look for loose or broken straps, cracked or soft soles, damage to the toe box, or softened soles.
4. Toss your shoes when they’re too worn out to fix.
It doesn’t matter how much you walk in a day or how long a shoe lasts. Most shoes last about 500 miles. If you want your shoes to last a long time, wear different pairs of shoes every day.
5. Your feet should be kept well.
It’s not hard to keep your feet healthy. The first thing you should do is try foot massages or reflexology.
When your feet are sore, don’t forget to soak them in Epsom salt to make them feel better.
6. Change your socks every day.
7. Don’t share your shoes.
8. Don’t wear shoes that don’t fit.
9. Don’t try to fix your foot problems with “do it yourself” ideas.
10. Keep your feet clean.
In addition to wearing well-fitting shoes, practicing good hygiene can help prevent foot problems. Keep your feet clean and dry to avoid getting hurt or getting an infection. You should wash your feet with warm water every day. Pumice stones can also be used to help scrub away hardened skin from calluses or corns.
In the medical field, a podiatrist deals with problems affecting the lower limbs, ankles, and feet. An ankle or foot surgery is done by a podiatrist after he or she talks to the patient and decides what would be the best treatment for the patient.
