  • Handling and preparing food safely 

Food hygiene means knowing the proper handling and preparation of food to avoid bacteria during the preparation of food, cooking, and storing. Foods that are not cooked and stored properly can cause food poisoning and harm consumers.  

  • Proper washing of hands 

Handwashing is one the best ways to protect yourself and stay healthy and prevent infections. Learn when to wash hands so germs cannot spread.

    2. Before, during, and after food preparation 
    3. Before and after dressing a wound 
    4. Before and after caring for someone who is sick 
    5. After using the bathroom 
    6. After sneezing and coughing

Make sure that you clean commonly used surfaces, by doing this you can also prevent the spread of germs and bacteria. Use warm water with soap/detergent or another type of cleaner appropriate for the surfaces that you clean. 

  • Proper coughing and sneezing  

When sneezing and coughing, make sure that you cover your nose to prevent the spread of the virus and infection. You can also use a handkerchief or tissue. You can also wear a face mask when you are sick.  

  • Don’t share personal items 

People, especially children, and old people are vulnerable to infections. Do not share personal items, especially things that cannot be disinfected, such as toothbrushes, eating utensils, nail care, and skin care. Also, avoid sharing of towels. 

  • Get vaccinated 

Vaccination is important in protecting ourselves and our loved ones from contracting and spreading diseases. It can also prevent serious illnesses. Vaccine activates your immune system in fighting infections. 

  • Stay home when you are sick 

When you feel under the weather, it is best that you stay at home and rest. Resting will help you recuperate, it also helps in containing the virus that you can spread. Stay at home until you feel better.
